While we’re not allowed to advise you on the best for your particular situation (that’s best reserved for a lawyer or accountant), we can say that the majority of our clients’ choose to form their business in their home state. This is because:

  • The fees are lower, since you won’t have to form your company in a remote state as well as “foreign qualify” in your home state (which means you’re now paying maintenance fees and taxes in 2 states instead of one).
  • It keeps things simple: banking, laws, etc. are all in your home state.
  • They don’t intend to move out of that state.

However, many of our clients choose one of the “business friendly states” of Delaware, Nevada or Wyoming. Please review our guide on this topic to see a detailed comparison: Which State to Choose?
